The city of Aurora's Free Loader Days are back! You bring your pick-up truck or open trailer and we will load the mulch. 2016 Free Loader Dates are May 7, June 25, July 23, and August 27. The city's mulch pile is always open to the public, but these monthly events offer the additional service of having city staff load the mulch for you. |
Most items still accepted for free at May 7 e-cycling event
Recycle your electronics May 7 at the city of Aurora’s e-cycling event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Central Facilities Recycling Drop-off Site, 13646 E. Ellsworth Ave.
Most electronic items will continue to be accepted for free. However, due to rising costs associated with processing cathode ray tube electronics, which contain lead, it will now cost $20 to recycle cathode ray tube televisions 22 inches and under, and $40 for cathode ray tube televisions over 22 inches. Cathode ray tube monitors remain $10 each.
A partnership with Techno Rescue is enabling the city to offer this free e-cycling for most electronics. The event is open to both Aurora residents and nonresidents.
As a reminder, electronics tossed in the trash not only cause serious environmental problems, but also are banned from landfills in Colorado. The city of Aurora’s e-cycling events are supported by Environment Aurora, a citywide effort to think green.
Other electronics recycling events for 2016 are scheduled for July 16 at Central Facilities Recycling Drop-off Site, 13464 E. Ellsworth Ave., and Oct. 29 at the Tallyn’s Reach Library parking lot.
